Clinical Research Training

The Center for Clinical Research Training (CRT) have developed a comprehensive curriculum to guide new investigators and those who wish to advance their knowledge through the process of conducting successful clinical research trials. The CRT program will provide investigators a better understanding of the lifecycle of a clinical trial and how to be effective in patient engagement, sponsor collaborations and financial accountability.

The training curriculum topics will include such topics as:

  • Principal investigator responsibilities
  • Regulatory compliance
  • IRB process
  • Budgeting and contracting overview
  • Recruitment strategies
  • Clinical Research Office resources
  • PI research accounts
  • Study Close out
  • Building relationships with industry

To accommodate a variety of schedules, the trainings, which are delivered in four 30-minute sessions and can be scheduled for a group or individuals, are available in person or via zoom.

In addition to the focused training and education on clinical research trials, CRT is offering the Research Essentials lecture series.

Research Essentials

The Center for Research Training’s Research Essential is a lecture series that provides an educational overview of clinical trials and sponsored research in a didactic and interactive format. The Research Essentials lecture series includes the following topics: study design, basic biostatistics, scientific writing, networking and career forums. Each lecture is a one hour (1.0 CME credit) and is open to all faculty, staff, trainees, and students within UFCOM-Jacksonville. Lectures are offered via zoom the first Thursday of every month from 12-1pm with a break in July. To attend a presentation email CRTjax@jax.ufl.edu .
