Application Process

Please refer to the GME benefits, requirements and resources page.

To apply to our residency program please go to the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS).

Pathology Residency Requirements

  • The program complies with the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville policy on resident eligibility and selection criteria including visa sponsorship .pdf (Adobe PDF Document)
  • Successful completion of USMLE steps 1 and 2 with a score of 200 or above with a maximum of two attempts
  • Publications and experience in pathology are helpful and encouraged
  • ECFMG certificate required for interview
  • Application deadline: November 1

The applicant pool is very competitive, so we offer the following suggestions for your consideration. Our strongest applicants have higher USMLE scores. Previous graduates who have successfully completed USMLE Step 3 are also more competitive. Additionally, recommendation letters and pathology observerships will also make your application more competitive.

Please do not hesitate to contact Rebel Jones, the Senior GME Program Administrator at (904) 244-4889 or rebel.jones@jax.ufl.edu if you have any further questions.
