Nizar F. Maraqa, MD, a University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville assistant professor of pediatrics and director of the pediatric infectious diseases fellowship program, will serve on the American Academy of Pediatrics Subcommittee on Diagnosis and Management of Bronchiolitis.
The subcommittee reports to the academy’s Infectious Diseases Committee.
Members, who are national experts in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases, will review and revise the academy’s 2006 bronchiolitis guidelines. Clinical practices throughout the U.S. use the guidelines as a reference to manage this common respiratory illness.
Dr. Maraqa received his medical education at the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan. He completed his residency in pediatrics and his fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville.
