Governor appoints Hudak to state committee

Mark L. Hudak, M.D., professor in the department of pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine—Jacksonville, will serve on the state Medicaid Pharmaceutical and Therapeutics Committee.

Hudak, who also serves as assistant dean for managed care, was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to serve a two-year term. Hudak is also associate chair of the pediatrics department and chief of the neonatology division at UF.

The 10-member committee develops and implements a voluntary Medicaid preferred prescribed drug designation program. The committee selects a list of cost-effective prescription products for Medicaid patients and provides that list to doctors.

Hudak’s term began in October and ends June 30, 2013.
