Pediatric Resident to present research at premier pediatric meeting

Dr. Asma Salahuddin, a second- year pediatric resident at the University of Florida College of Medicine–Jacksonville, presented "Cost-Effectiveness of Hepatitis B Serology Testing Prior to Hepatitis B Vaccination in the Akha Tribal Children in Northeastern Thailand" April 5, 2011, during the 4th Annual Pediatric Resident Symposium "Striving for excellence in research, critical thinking, and leadership." The meeting was held at the Sawgrass Marriott Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Dr. Salahuddin's paper was one of 20 selected from hundreds of peer review submissions from around the country. The symposium focused on resident training of research design, presentation and leadership training.

Dr. Salahuddin will also be presenting her work at the annual meeting of the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) in Denver, Colorado on April 30 – May 3, 2011. The PAS conference embodies four individual organizations that together co-sponsor the PAS annual meeting. These organizations are the American Pediatric Society, Society for Pediatric Research, Academic Pediatric Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
