Dr. Frank J. Genuardi elected into the UFCOM Society of Teaching Scholars

Frank J. Genuardi, M.D., M.P.H., associate professor in the department of pediatrics and associate dean for student affairs, has been elected into the University of Florida College of Medicine's Society of Teaching Scholars (STS).

Selection by the STS recognizes Dr. Genuardi's excellence in teaching and commitment to enhancing the educational mission and the continuous quality improvement process of the educational program.

Each year the society may select up to two new members. Nominees must be a member of the UF College of Medicine faculty providing 500 hours of education effort per year and involved in the training of students, residents and/or fellows.

A vital part of the application process is the Educator’s Portfolio. The Portfolio is a collection of materials in which the applicant must illustrates their unique strengths and contributions, both in terms of productivity and quality, in educational scholarship.

Members of the Society of Teaching Scholars mentor junior faculty, serve as advisors to the Faculty Development Committee and the College of Medicine Education Center, and sponsor the annual Medical Education Week.
