Mission

The core mission of our program is to teach physicians to completely apply the art of clinical neurology across a diverse spectrum of patients. This aligns with the mission of the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville, which is to heal, to comfort, to educate and to discover through quality health care, elimination of health disparities, medical education, innovation and research. UF Health, the College of Medicine – Jacksonville and the department of neurology dedicate our work to improving the lives of those we touch through quality care, medical education, innovation and research.

Program Aims

  • Integrate residents’ clinical skills with an understanding of neuroscience to provide consistently high-quality care to all patients, regardless of their socioeconomic background
  • Promote resident leadership skills pertaining to interdisciplinary, interprofessional care teams that are focused on providing safe and optimal care to patients
  • Ensure that residents approach the practice of neurology with a scholarly attitude
  • Enhance residents’ skills as educators of colleagues and other health care providers

Goals and Objectives

The main goal of the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville neurology residency program is to teach physicians to be competent in the art and science of neurology.

Our objective is to train individuals who provide expert patient care, as well as understand basic and clinical neurosciences.

To meet our objective, the curriculum focuses on a comprehensive clinical experience, which includes inpatient, consultative and outpatient services.
