Welcome to the division of general internal medicine in the department of medicine located at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville campus.

Patient Care

Our division provides professional services to UF Health Jacksonville, a tertiary care teaching hospital serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia. Members of our division provide continuous care for internal medicine patients, both inpatient and outpatient.

Education

Our faculty physicians play an integral role in the instruction of residents in the ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency program as well as medical students from the UF College of Medicine. The division is also involved in the department's undergraduate medical education elective/clerkship courses for third- and fourth-year medical students.

An additional educational opportunity includes the annual Update in Internal Medicine, a two day continuing medical education (CME) activity, designed to provide primary care physicians a state of the art update in internal medicine.

Research

The research interests of the division currently focus on continuing medical education, clinical research and faculty facilitation of resident research projects.

Specific clinical research interests include primary care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, health care disparity in patients with diabetes, obesity and domestic violence to name a few. Educational research interests include the role of an ultrasound guided procedure curriculum for residents and students and the impact of a dedicated block rotation in quality improvement and patient safety for residents.
