Research

To complete the requirements of training, each fellow must perform an independent clinical research project under the supervision of a UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville faculty member. Fellows are also free to select a suitable topic along with a faculty member. Projects must result in either the publication of articles, book chapters, abstracts or case reports in peer-reviewed journals (for instance, peer-reviewed performance improvement or education research, peer-reviewed funding, or peer-reviewed abstracts presented at regional/state/national specialty meetings).

Fellows are encouraged to complete research through the availability of the Dean's Fund Research Award. All nephrology fellows have several required months of research to be conducted under the direct supervision of an attending mentor. Research conference is held monthly to review planned, ongoing and completed research projects presented by fellows and faculty.
