Welcome to the fellowship in cardiovascular disease in the department of medicine's division of cardiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville. This three-year program is accredited through the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, or ACGME. It offers outstanding training and provides fellows with multiple tiers for clinical and academic support. The teaching faculty are diverse with broad clinical and research backgrounds. This, in conjunction with our diverse patient population, offers a unique and enriched educational experience for our trainees. We offer a robust cardiovascular research experience led by internationally recognized researcher Dominick Angiolillo M.D., Ph.D.

Fellowship training at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville primarily occurs at UF Health Jacksonville, a private not-for-profit tertiary care teaching facility near downtown Jacksonville. This 695-bed hospital is part of an academic health center that's the region’s premier leader in the education of health professionals. Our campus is also a hub for clinical research and is a unique provider of high-quality patient care. We have the only adult and pediatric Level I trauma center in Northeast Florida and a state of the art Cardiovascular Center.

In addition to our general cardiology training program, we have two robust subspecialty cardiology training programs in Interventional Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Furthermore, fellows gain exposure to the hospital's Structural Heart and Valvular Disease Program, Peripheral Arterial Disease Program and a unique Women's Cardiovascular Program, directed by Gladys Velarde, M.D.

Our program accepts applications via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and participates in the National Resident Matching Program. We invite you to view our introductory video and other information on this website to receive a broad overview of our program and faculty, as well as contact information to help answer any additional questions you may have.
