Curriculum

Our UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville pediatric emergency medicine fellowship offers training to both emergency medicine and pediatric graduates. A training period of two years is required for all subspecialty residents. Pediatric graduates require three years of fellowship training in order to meet the certification requirements of the American Board of Pediatrics' Sub-Board of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Conferences average 4-5 hours per week and include:

  • Emergency Medicine Specialty Conferences (Difficult Airway Course, Introduction to Ultrasound)

  • PEM Board Review Conferences
  • Literature Updates
  • Clinical Toxicology Conferences
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Simulation Sessions
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellow Scholarly Oversight Committee Meetings

Fellows are involved in the preparation of some conferences. An attendance list that includes both pediatric emergency medicine faculty and fellows is kept by the PEM program director.
