About Charles J. Haddad

Charles Haddad, M.D., was born in Miami, Florida, and attended the University of Florida for most of his undergraduate studies, finishing his degree at Florida International University. He worked for several years at Miami Heart Institute in the laboratory for hematology, chemistry, the blood bank and microbiology areas.

He received his medical degree with honors from World University and completed a family medicine residency at the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville. He was elected chief resident in his third year.

After residency, he joined the UF faculty as a clinical instructor, and was later promoted to assistant professor.

In 1996, he started the Dunn Avenue family medicine practice, where he serves as medical director. The practice quickly grew to its current eight-person practice size.

Dr. Haddad has been named Best Doctor every year since 1998 by Woodward and White listing of the Best Doctors in America. He has received the Golden Apple Award and Exemplary Teacher Award for outstanding teaching of medical students. He received a scholarship and attended the Reynolds Leadership and Management in Geriatrics from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Dr. Haddad has volunteered to serve the needy people in the Dominican Republic by leading medical students on a global health mission every year for the past 16 years to the rural areas of this country.

Dr. Haddad recently was promoted to associate professor and associate chair of clinical affairs for the department of community health and family medicine.
