About the Office of Contract Services

The Office of Contract Services works as the advocate and facilitator in furtherance of any and all service related contracts for the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville (UFCOM-J). These services are provided in support of the activities of UFCOM-J and several associated University Component Units.

Lawyers and other trained professionals in the Contract Services Office draft contractual documents, provide analytical review and revision of draft contracts submitted to the Jacksonville units, and process such contractual documents for duly authorized signatures in accordance with University requirements.

The Office of Contract Services also performs financial analysis and billing services on behalf of the University’s Faculty Practice Plan in support of the activities of the clinical faculty in Jacksonville.

The Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean of the College of Medicine – Jacksonville has charged the Contract Service Office with ensuring that all University contracts are:

  • In conformance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations;
  • Equitable in terms of financial and other University interests;
  • Not in conflict with existing agreements, or limiting for future agreements;
  • Not exposing the University to liability risks unnecessarily;
  • Clear as to intent and obligations of the contracting parties;
  • Signed by duly authorized University representatives.
