Library Catalog
The library holdings, which include books, journals and audiovisual materials, are maintained in the online catalog of the University of Florida. The online catalog can be accessed via a link from the library's homepage. Items in the catalog are indexed by author, title and subject. Individual or group instruction in the use of the online catalog is available on request. In addition to books, journals and audiovisual materials located at Borland, users also have access to the collections of several other area hospital libraries.
Borrowing
All students may borrow books and audio-visual materials from the library by presenting their University of Florida student ID badge.

- Journals - in library use only. Copiers are located in the library.
- A/V materials - two weeks. No renewals.
Photocopy Services
Two self-service photocopiers are located in the library. Copies cost 13 cents per page. Photocopy cards are required and can be purchased in the library. These copy cards are also used when printing in the library's computer lab. Photocopy cards purchased on the UF Gainesville campus can also be used in Jacksonville. Many departments cover photocopy costs for students. Several departments also maintain photocopy cards in the library for use when departmental offices are closed. Check with your Student Coordinator to determine the procedures of your department.
Literature Searches/Electronic Resources
Computers with Internet access are available in the computer lab of the Borland Library for individuals needing to perform literature searches. The available databases include PubMed, CINAHL, MD Consult, Clinical Pharmacology Online, Current Contents, the Cochran Database of Systematic Reviews and others. The library also provides access to the many full text electronic resources licensed by the Health Science Center Library in Gainesville. These resources are also accessible from most computers on this campus that have Internet access. Use of a proxy server makes it possible to access these resources from off-campus computers as well. Library staff can provide assistance in orienting students to this system.
