Research
Since 1993, the UF College of Medicine - Jacksonville Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology has participated in over 50 clinical research trials. The National Institutes of Health and the AIDS Clinical Trial Group support the division's UF Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (UF CARES). The center's research team is committed to improving the health of women and children living with HIV, through studies designed to increase our understanding of HIV and developing better treatment options. The UF Center also participates in industry sponsored clinical studies supported by pharmaceutical companies and includes trials studying vaccines, antibiotics and therapies for other infectious diseases.
The research team at UF CARES would like to acknowledge and extend their sincere appreciation to the many contributions made by study participants. Through their efforts, we hope to improve the quality of life for individuals with or affected by HIV while working toward our ultimate hope for a cure.
