Patient Care

The UF Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (UF CARES) Rainbow Center provides confidential, comprehensive care for all its patients, through a multidisciplinary approach. This means we strive to provide every aspect of care our patients will need, from primary care to subspecialty services. The UF Center's faculty and staff further extend and strengthen their ability to meet patients' needs through partnerships with 31 other agencies. The following is a list of our services:

  • Comprehensive family centered medical care for HIV infected/exposed infants, children, adolescents, women and their families
  • HIV counseling and testing
  • Prenatal and postpartum care (in coordination with high-risk OB clinic)
  • Family planning and gynecological care include colposcopy and LEEPS
  • Specialize in high-risk (for infectious diseases) pregnancies (in coordination with high-risk OB clinic)
  • Nutritional and dietary evaluations (body composition analysis, education, supplements, etc.)
  • Health education, risk reduction and outreach
  • Pharmacist assistance (creative solutions for taking medicines, etc.)
  • Access to pediatrics, adolescent and adult clinical trials
  • Social case management
  • Nurse/medical case management
  • Childcare assistance at the clinic
  • Psychological evaluations and psychotherapy
  • Referrals for dental and other services
  • Support groups and adherence programs for adults, adolescents and pre-adolescents
  • Substance abuse screening
  • Legal aid
  • Transportation assistance
  • Additional assistance is provided on an individual basis

To make an appointment, call UF CARES Rainbow Center at (904) 244-2120.

Regular clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Most days we will be able to see you the same day. Please arrive on time for your appointments. There is a physician on call after office hours and on weekends. This physician can be reached by calling (904) 633-0920 and asking for the on-call physician for pediatric infectious diseases.
