Welcome to the University of Florida Center for HIV/AIDS Research, Education and Service (UF CARES). The UF Center is the only comprehensive pediatric and family-focused HIV and AIDS program in Northeast Florida and South Georgia. At our UF CARES Rainbow Center (located on the third floor of Shands Jacksonville's Clinical Center building), we provide primary, secondary and tertiary care for HIV-exposed and infected individuals and families. In addition to basic medical care, the center provides case management, health education, nutrition and mental health counseling. We also work to provide services through collaborations and partnerships with Children's Medical Services.

The UF Center has access to national research protocols which may make a patient eligible to participate in certain clinical studies and trials.

UF CARES is part of the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. The UF Center is also an HIV/AIDS education training site for the Florida/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center, which covers the entire northern half of Florida, southern Georgia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.

Our web pages are designed to provide a comprehensive view of the center. Please contact us if you have any additional questions. Thank you for your interest - we hope you find our site both educational and interesting.
