Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship

Thank you for your interest in pursuing a career in child and adolescent psychiatry. The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville offers two positions for first-year child and adolescent psychiatry fellows. Please submit all application materials through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) by September 1. We highly encourage you to complete your application early. We will be interviewing candidates beginning mid-September through mid-November.

  • Curriculum vitae
  • Dean's letter
  • Letters from training directors of all current and/or previous residency programs
  • Official medical school transcripts
  • Official USMLE transcripts
  • Personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation from medical professionals (non-residents)
  • For international medical graduates only: Official ECFMG status reports (must have aJ-1 visa)

Selection Process

All applications will be reviewed and highly-qualified candidates will be invited to interview. During the interview, each candidate will meet with the program director and with at least two additional faculty members on site. Each interviewer, who has also reviewed all relevant application materials, will record his/her opinion, scoring applicants in areas including:

  • Academic credentials
  • Clinical competence
  • Career plans consistent with the goals of the program
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Professionalism
  • Research potential

The final decision on ranking is made by the program director based on the faculty's recommendations.
