Curriculum

Our department provides a four-year combined anatomic and clinical pathology training for eight full-time residents.

The following represents the minimum length of time a resident will spend in each area of concentration during the course of the pathology residency training program:

Autopsy Pathology 8 months
Surgical Pathology 8 months
Gynecologic and Obstetrical Pathology 3 months
Cytopathology 1 month
Electron Microscopy 1 month
Forensic Pathology 1 month
Immunopathology 2 weeks
Anatomic Pathology Elective About 5 weeks
Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology 6 months
Hematology 5 months
Microbiology 4 months
Blood Banking 4 months
Immunology and Serology 1 month
Urinalysis and Clinical Microscopy 1 month
Cytogenetics 1 month
Laboratory Administration 1 month
Informatics and Statistics 4 two-hour lectures & 1 nine-hour lecture
Clinical Pathology Electives About 5 weeks
