Welcome to the site for the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville. The
department dates back to the early 1960's, when housed within the department of surgery, its first resident graduated from the program.
Our faculty members perform the entire spectrum of traditional and contemporary oral and maxillofacial surgery. We offer a comprehensive facial trauma and reconstruction practice, pediatric craniomaxillofacial surgery, facial aesthetic surgery, TMJ and corrective jaw surgery, head and neck oncology and microvascular rehabilitation and reconstruction of head and neck defects.
The
department offers a 6-year residency program which leads to a medical degree and a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. We also offer a post-graduate, one-year Microvascular Surgery Fellowship Program with heavy emphasis on head and neck surgery and reconstruction.
The Jacksonville department offers a four-week clerkship to medical students as a 4th year rotation. We also offer one- and two-week externship opportunities to dental students during the 2nd - 4th years of dental school.
