UF physicians group names new VP of operations

Richard Scanu, M.B.A., C.P.A.

Richard Scanu, M.B.A., C.P.A., has been named vice president of operations for University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians. UFJP is the faculty practice plan, which works hand in hand with UF Health Jacksonville and the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville in providing health care to residents of Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

Scanu comes to Jacksonville from Latham, New York, where he worked for 17 years with Community Care Physician, PC, most recently as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He previously served as chief operating officer for the organization.

At UFJP, Scanu will report to the CEO and senior associate dean for clinical affairs and will work alongside the vice president of ambulatory services and the vice president of finance. Scanu will be responsible for the business groups, human resources, informational services, value-based programs/population management and the analysis reporting groups.

Haley Jr., M.D., M.H.S.A., dean of the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville. “He’ll be a key part of our management team as we strive to bring the best care to residents in and around Jacksonville.”
