Stroke Center receives the American Stroke Association's Get with the Guidelines - Silver Performance Award

The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognize hospitals for their success in using Get with the Guidelines to improve quality of care for heart disease and stroke patients. The Shands Jacksonville Stroke Center recently received the Get with the Guidelines Silver Performance Award.
Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) is a hospital-based quality improvement program that aims to empowers healthcare provider teams to consistently treat heart and stroke patients according to the most up-to-date guidelines. Silver Performance Award follow treatment guidelines in certain key measures and have maintained the performance level for one year.
The Shands Jacksonville Stroke Center and the Neuroscience Institute celebrated the success of the physicians and staff who implement these high standards of care and protocol with an award presentation on Friday, July 17, 2009.
