The University of Florida College of Medicine Jacksonville is closely affiliated with Shands Jacksonville, a comprehensive care academic medical center and the metropolitan teaching hospital for UF. The hospital's interdisciplinary centers of excellence - including the Cardiovascular Center, Neuroscience Institute, Bone & Joint Institute and Cancer Center - provide patients with access to premier care in the hospital's state-of-the-art facilities.
Shands Jacksonville is home to the only Level I Trauma Center in Northeast Florida, as well as one of only two hospitals in the area to have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a separate pediatric emergency department. In addition, Florida's first state-of-the-art proton beam cancer treatment facility is currently being constructed on the hospital's campus.
In addition to the Shands Jacksonville campus, UF Jacksonville faculty physicians provide patient care at seven other major medical centers and over 30 primary and specialty satellite practices across North Florida and South Georgia.
For information on the specific services UF physicians provide, please explore the patient care pages under the department of your interest.
