The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is closely affiliated with Shands Jacksonville, a comprehensive care academic medical center and the metropolitan teaching hospital for UF. The hospital's interdisciplinary centers of excellence - including the Breast Health Center, Cardiovascular Center, Neuroscience Institute, and the Women's Health Center provide patients with access to premier care in the hospital's state-of-the-art facilities.

Shands Jacksonville is home to the only Level I Trauma Center in Northeast Florida, as well as one of only two hospitals in the area to have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and a separate pediatric emergency department. In addition, Florida's state-of-the-art proton beam cancer treatment facility is the first of its kind in the Southeastern US and only the fifth in the nation. The UF Proton Therapy Institute is fully operational and located on the hospital's campus.

In addition to Shands Jacksonville, UF College of Medicine-Jacksonville faculty physicians provide patient care at seven other major medical centers and over 36 primary and specialty satellite practices across North Florida and South Georgia.
