Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship
University of Florida nephrology fellows at UF Health Jacksonville

The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville endocrinology fellowship is a two-year program encompassing both clinical and research experience and instruction. Rotations for year one include six one-month rotations on the adult endocrinology consultation service at UF Health Jacksonville, three months at University of Florida Southside ambulatory clinic and three months on the research rotation. In the second year, fellows learn and practice three months at the UF Health Endocrinology – Emerson ambulatory clinic, one month of pediatric endocrinology at Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, one month in reproductive endocrinology at Jacksonville Center for Reproductive Health, five months on the research rotation and two one-month rotations of inpatient endocrinology at UF Health Jacksonville. Fellows have ambulatory care experience including two half-days/week continuity clinics during the first and second year. They are instructed in faculty clinics and perform thyroid ultrasound, thyroid biopsy, interpret continuous glucose monitoring, initiate insulin pumps and interpret bone densitometry under the supervision and guidance of a faculty member. Management of metabolic disorders in children and evaluation of urolithiasis are included during the pediatric and reproductive endocrinology rotations.
