New UF Endocrinology Fellowship Program Accredited

The Office of Educational Affairs is pleased to announce a new training program that received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The Endocrinology fellowship program will begin on July 1, 2008.

New UF Ophthalmology Residency and Nephrology Fellowship Programs Accredited

The Office of Educational Affairs is pleased to announce two new training programs that received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The Ophthalmology Residency Program began July 1, 2007, as did the Nephrology Fellowship Program. These programs join the 21 other ACGME-accredited programs at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville.

UF Pediatrics Faculty Recieve Funding for Regional Medical-Public Health Education Center

Drs. David Wood and Bill Livingood of the UF Department of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the Departments of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine and with the Duval County Health Department, received funding from the AAMC for the UF College of Medicine-Jacksonville/Duval County Health Department Regional Medical-Public Health Education Center. This program represents one of 13 funded proposals nationally and will help support interdisciplinary collaboration in developing resident service-learning and scholarship opportunities in population and public health.

Advances in Medical Education Presentation

The UF College of Medicine-Jacksonville will host the first annual Advances in Medical Education on April 24, to help celebrate Medical Education Week. Peer-reviewed posters on innovation in medical education will be presented in the Learning Resource Center atrium throughout the day. Author attendance will occur 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., culminating in an award ceremony for most outstanding resident/fellow and faculty posters.
