Endocrinologists are uniquely trained and dedicate their lives to promote the health of many who may be afflicted by obesity, diabetes, hypertension and osteoporosis. We welcome you to the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship website, devoted to physicians who seek to fulfill this challenge through formal training. The educational purpose of the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship is to provide an ACGME accredited, broad-based training to fellows in the evaluation and management of the vast array of diseases encountered in the subspecialty of Endocrinology, including the care of patients with diabetes and metabolic disorders. The fellowship consists of clinical training for two years with integration of pertinent research in the field. Fellows are expected to increase their basic medical knowledge base in Endocrinology, metabolism, and nutrition, to develop improved skills in the diagnosis and management of the varied types of health issues encountered, and to develop investigative skill in related disciplines. The scope and structure of the program are designed to fulfill requirements for board eligibility in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, as described in the AMA Graduate Medical Education Directory.
In addition to the professional opportunities, Jacksonville is an ideal place to live and work – it is home to perfect weather, abundant beaches, unlimited outdoor sports and home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.
Please explore our website in its entirety and contact us if you have any questions or need further information.
