Welcome from the Program Directors

Supriya Maddirala, M.D.
Associate Program Director
The fellowship consists of a comprehensive training experience in all aspects of clinical nephrology, including acute and chronic hemodialysis, CRRT, peritoneal dialysis, renal transplantation, hypertension, and all forms of fluid, acid-base, and electrolyte disturbances. Nephrology fellows will become adept at the placement of temporary vascular access for hemodialysis and percutaneous native and transplant renal biopsy. In addition, fellows will receive instruction and mentoring in nephrology research with protected time to engage in meritorious activities. All first year fellows participate in the NKF spring meetings and all senior fellows attend the ASN.
Our faculty are dynamic and highly motivated, and our clinical practice and referral system is robust. The Department of Medicine boasts a strong Internal Medicine Residency Program lead by three program directors and two fourth-year chief medical residents, and is highly integrated into the educational mission of the nephrology fellowship.
Review our website in detail and email or call with questions. We think you will like what you see and hope you will let us serve as your gateway to a bright professional future as a nephrologist.
