Curriculum & Rotations
The first year of the program is designed to introduce the resident to the management of medical oncology patients, the development of procedural skills, and the initiation of a research project.
The second year of the program continues these goals and adds a minimum of six months of electives designed to give the resident further in-depth knowledge of specific areas necessary to the development of competency as a sub specialist in Medical Oncology.
The fellowship training program is divided into monthly rotations divided between Shands Jacksonville, the principle teaching hospital, and Baptist Medical Center, located approximately 10 miles away. Electives and research projects can be undertaken at either site.
