Director of Field Operations and Disaster Management

The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, Division of Field Operations is unique in the field of medicine because it extends beyond the physical confines of the hospital. It literally takes the physician to the site of illness or injury in the field.

Established in 2001, the division's faculty, fellows and residents provide their expertise and services to the NASA Space Shuttle program, numerous emergency medical services agencies, several SWAT teams in the region and a number of large sporting events. Physicians involved in field operations receive specialized training in order to provide optimal medical care in austere conditions and during high-risk situations like shuttle launches and SWAT callouts.
