Education Programs

The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville Department of Anesthesiology currently does not have an independent anesthesiology residency program. Anesthesiology residents rotate to our department from other residency programs such as the University of Florida College of Medicine-Gainesville and the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville.

We do have a non-standard Obstetrical Anesthesiology Fellowship. The obstetric anesthesiology fellows are expected to gain experience in advanced clinical care, including the care of healthy and high-risk parturients, as well as active participation in basic and clinical research projects under the supervision of the director of research and department chair.

We also have residents and fellows rotate to our service from the Emergency Medicine Residency, Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. Trainees in other healthcare professional programs also rotate to the Department of Anesthesiology.

Our department is one of the main clinical sites for CRNA students from the University of North Florida.
